Author Bio

Cory Blothenburg is a writer-performer who grew up in the small village of you-won’t-be-able-to-pronounce-it-anyway, NY where he got his kicks doing impressions of locals and falling off chairs to make friends laugh.  After earning a degree from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, he headed west and rediscovered his love for entertaining people from the stage.  He’s a graduate of The Second City, specializing in physical comedy, and has studied under legendary improvisers:  Jenna Jolovitz, Nyima Funk, Monika Smith, Ithamar Enriquez, Frank Caeti, and many others.

Best known for his cult-favorite comic, Series of a Thousand Faces, Cory has co-written & starred in the hit sketch comedy revue, The Meaning of Life…Cereal, where he played multiple characters including a ventriloquist dummy named Chuckles.  He also appeared as the snarky Banker in The Encyclopedia Salesman, a comedy short film by Roger Fath.

Currently, Cory studies at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.  And he produces a biweekly written essay called, the neurotic mind.  You can find him performing improv around Los Angeles — or at Rite Aid afterwards buying band-aids, because he dings himself up a lot.

He enjoys cooking, is a former trombonist, and would like to thank his bathroom mirror which has been encouraging him to make faces while standing at the sink his whole life.
