About
The Series of a Thousand Faces started when I was just a young kid; my big brother would say, “Do the series of a thousand faces!” And then, to his amusement, I would contort my face into a number of varying expressions in a stop-motion manner.
A couple years ago I was feeling the need to be funny, and people were always commenting on my real-life facial expressions. They’d tell me the face I just made was perfect. And then not knowing what face I made, I’d curiously attempt to recreate it for them, and they’d say, “No that’s not it.” It bugged me I didn’t have a record of it — it hit me. So I started humorously posting a face almost every day on Facebook. The Series quickly grew into a celebrated favorite among friends, with many looking forward to weighing-in on what they saw in each expression.
There’s a saying that 93% of communication is nonverbal; an expression can speak a thousand words… I find it fascinating that one subtle difference between two faces can completely change the message that is being conveyed. Imagination and independent experiences allows each of us to read images uniquely.
This comic is my endeavor to take that simple concept and create a substantive compilation of faces that you will find entertaining, relatable, and interactive — through a mixture of everyday expressions, impressions, characters, and social commentary. Enjoy!
